Mr. B.T. Hinson, Principal

  • Hello, my name is B.T. Hinson, and I am honored to be the principal of Slocomb High School.  This is my 21st year in education.  I started my career in Lakeland, FL in 1998.  I then moved to Apalachicola, FL where I taught from 1999 until 2006.  In 2006, I moved to Dothan to teach at Montana Magnet School.  After teaching for 7 years at MMS, I moved into administration as the assistant principal of Slocomb Elementary School.  After 2 years at SES, I worked as the assistant principal at Carver Magnet School.   In 2017, I was named the principal of Slocomb High School. 

    I have an Associate in Science degree from Enterprise State Junior College in General Studies and a Bachelor of Science degree from Troy University in Education.   I also hold a Master of Science in Instructional Leadership and Administration from Troy University-Dothan.  I am a life-long learner and continue to expand my knowledge through various opportunities for professional development and self-growth. 

    I am married and have one daughter who attends Slocomb Middle School.  I enjoy my job and supporting the students of Slocomb High School, saltwater fishing, and watching Troy University Baseball.
