My name is Heather Cavender-Nichols. This is my 24th year of teaching, and my fourth year here at Samson Elementary.  I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! Mrs. Kim Lowery is my aide, and we will be working closely together with your child.

     When I'm not teaching or doing school related work, I enjoy scapbooking, working in my flowerbeds, and spending time with my family.  I have been happily married for 30 years to my high school sweetheart, Shannon Nichols.  Shannon is the Webmaster/Programmer for the STARS office at Troy University.  We have been blessed with four amazing children.  Our oldest child, James, is twenty-seven years old.  He recently earned his Master's Degree in Mathematics and lives in Danbury, CT.  Andrea is twenty-five, and is in Pharmacy school at  Auburn University, and just got married this summer to Noah Phillips.  Matthew is a sophomore at Troy University, where he is majoring in Cyber Security.  He enjoys playing the trumpet for the South of the South, and is our family clown.  Our baby girl, Malorie is thirteen years old.  She is in eighth grade at Daleville Middle School.  Malorie is very creative.  She enjoys anything dealing with art.
