Mrs. Emily Richards

My name is Emily Richards. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics Education from Troy University and a Masters degree in the same field. I am highly qualified to teach mathematics at the secondary level. I am married to Gary Richards, and I live in Slocomb. We have three boys. Jasper is my oldest, and I am sure that you will hear plenty about all of his shenanigans during this school year. We also have another son, Luke, who was born December 20th, 2016, and we are sad to say that he was received into the arms of Jesus on Christmas Eve 2016. He had a rare genetic metabolic disorder. I am super open about his life, his disorder, and the impact that he made in his short four days of life outside the womb. Our caboose baby is Barrett Cole, and he is a wild child who I like to show off at every chance I get!

This is my tenth year teaching, and it is my second year as a Geneva County Bulldog. My goal is for my students to have fun while they learn, and my specific goal for this year is that we all succeed in our technology enhanced classroom.

In addition to teaching, I am also the director of a non-profit organization called Luke's Legacy named after our sweet angel baby. We minister to the families of infants enduring long-term hospital stays. I would love to talk with you about this as well, so feel free to ask anything!

Now that you know more about me, let's get this party started!
