Biography

I'm from Geneva, Alabama and a 2006 graduate of Geneva High School. I felt called to be a teacher after realizing the difference three of my teachers had on my life by encouraging me to challenge and believe in myself and to love learning. I wanted to have the same impact on the lives of others as those three teachers had on me.To achieve this goal, I attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida to major in Secondary Social Science Education and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in May of 2010. I began my teaching career within the Polk County School District at Lakeland High School from 2010 to 2012 where I taught 10th grade World History and 11th grade United States History. At the conclusion of the 2012 academic year, I began to working my way home by accepting a teaching position in the Walton County School District at South Walton High School. There I taught Advanced Placement U.S. History, U.S. Government, Economics, Human Geography, and World History from 2012-2014 to students in grades 9 through 12. When presented with the opportunity to teach in my home state at Northview High School, in Dothan, I accepted, and taught Advanced Placement U.S. History and U.S. History to 10th and 11th graders from 2014-2016. My journey as an educator next brought me here in August of 2016 when I began teaching United States History, Government, and Economics to 10th through 12th graders at Geneva County High School in Hartford. I am glad to be a Bulldog and proud to teach the students of Geneva County High School.
