Title IX Office

The Title IX Office primarily oversees the District's compliance with the Title IX Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX was enacted to prohibit discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities that are operated by K-12 school districts and colleges and universities that receive federal funding.

GCS explicitly prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in the educational programs or activities which it operates. The prohibition against discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities extends to employment in and admission to such programs and activities. Title IX requires GCS not to discriminate on the basis of sex.
