School Improvement
Title I School Improvement/Accountability funds are used in the schools to identify for Title I School Improvement according to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), Section 1116. These funds are to help meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals and improve academic achievement.
Any school or LEA must meet all of the following in order to make AYP (adequate yearly progress):
Annual measurable objectives in reading and mathematics
Participation rates in reading and mathematics
Any additional academic indicators set by the state
It takes two years of not making AYP to get into Title I School Improvement status and it will take two year of making AYP to be removed from Title I School Improvement status.
